Pastor Rebecca (Becky) Schanely is a Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod native, born and raised in Gilbertsville, PA, and nurtured at New Hanover Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gilbertsville, PA.
Pastor Becky is a graduate of Boyertown Area High School, Ursinus College and The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Prior to coming to St. John’s, she served as the second pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Jamison, PA and as assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran in Lansdale, PA. From 2015-2018, Pastor Becky served as the Dean of the Upper Montgomery Conference of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod.
She resides in Harleysville with her husband Kevin Schanely and their four children – Erin, Alex, Keaton and Coulson. In her free time, she enjoys cross-stitching, hiking through Green Lane Park and on the Perkiomen Trail and spending time with her family.
